SCENZ is a branch of NZIC and was established in 2019 to represent secondary Chemistry teachers of New Zealand. It provides advice and support for its members as well as a variety of teaching, learning and assessment resources – most notably an annual set of parallel papers for L2, L3 and Scholarship external examinations.
It also represents and promotes the views of its members to the media and organisations such as NZQA and the Ministry of Education. NEX funding will allow SCENZ to provide significantly more PLD opportunities for all Chemistry educators but particularly those who are new to the profession or working in isolation or remote areas.
